Sony Xperia 1 v Xperia XZ3 | Side-by-side comparison
Comparing Sony’s new Xperia 1 flagship phone versus the Xperia XZ3 from last year, to see if the camera, performance, battery life and specs have upgraded significantly. Spoiler alert: almost everything has changed, making the Xperia 1 one of the best flagships of 2019 so far.
While the older XZ3 boasted a serious screen update with its beautiful OLED display, this has been boosted once more with a 4K resolution panel. You get Sony’s new Creator Mode smarts to output cinematic visuals, complete with a stretched 21:9 aspect ratio for enjoying movies the way they’re meant to be seen.
The Xperia 1 also packs a fresh triple-lens camera which can capture wide-angle and telephoto pics and videos. Sony’s Cinema Pro app adds full manual control and professional filters for your home movies too.
As for performance, the new flagship wins this versus battle. The XZ3 still boasts fantastic speed, but the new Snapdragon 855 chipset means the most premium experience – plus you get a new gaming mode.
